Working together with you to provide optimum learning for our students!
As a parent, grandparent, and retired teacher I have a love of children and a passion for education. I hold a master’s degree in Elementary Education. I began teaching in Coosa County in 1979 and continued in Tallapoosa County until I retired in 2001. As an educator I always appreciated the dedication of each parent, teacher, administrator, lunchroom worker, bus driver, and maintenance person. In fact, I have always believed it takes the entire community to educate our students so that they are prepared to enter the ever-changing world with the skills to be successful adults. This includes family, all school personnel, and the community at large.
After retirement, I became the first executive director for Keep America Beautiful in Polk County, GA. Under my leadership, we formed an active service fraternity in the high schools, started recycling in all schools, and started an educational program in the elementary schools. I successfully procured volunteer, material, and monetary support from the local businesses, civic organizations, and churches. We solicited and received support from the media, local governments, Home Depot, Walmart, State Farm, and many other businesses for local events, including the Great American Cleanup, Rivers Alive, tornado recovery, beautification projects, and recycling projects.
My goal as a board member of the Coosa County School System is to use my experience and my passion for education to support students’ growth and effectively challenge the whole community to be involved.
Mrs. Jenny Kimbrell, District V
I am a life long resident of Coosa County and a 2004 Central High School graduate. Upon graduation I attended Central Alabama Community College and earned an Associate in Science degree. My husband of 14 years, Paul Kimbrell and I reside in Weogufka with our two children Wyatt and Lillie. I am an active member of Hollins Baptist Church. As a former Parent Educator for the HIPPY program in Coosa County. I worked with multiple families and children throughout the county. My role as a parent educator encouraged families to teach their children through home activities. I thoroughly enjoyed my years of service to the children and families of our county during my time with the HIPPY Program. I am excited to work alongside the students, parents, and school system employees of Coosa County. My love for the children of Coosa County will be my driving force as I strive to make a difference as your District 5 Board representative.
